In my little corner of the world I have a mature Purple Prince Crabapple tree, and for a short time in the spring it overflows with beautiful blossoms.
When I first moved into my house, I had no idea what kinds of tree the property came with. During my first spring here, I was delightfully surprised this blooming beauty. It wasn’t long after that I was able to identify the tree and do some research on how to care for it. Ever since then I have looked forward to its bloom each year.
However, like all things beautiful, it cannot last for long.
Only a few days after the tree reaches the peak of its blossom it starts to fade. My lawn becomes carpeted with the delicate petals. This time of year, I set up the hammock under the tree. There is nothing more peaceful than spending a morning lounging underneath the waning petals. It’s one of Piper’s favorite spots too.
